So you’ve read all the hoopla about why grains are bad for you, you’ve decided to take a huge step toward optimal health and gotten your affairs in order. You’ve cleaned out your pantry, your fridge and your freezer and you’ve stocked up on a few essentials.

Now what? Well today is your lucky day! Today is the day that you go forward and never look back. You are headed into a future of optimal health and wellness, a life with endless energy, reduced aches, pains and sickness, stable blood sugars and you are moving towards achieving your perfect body weight. Congratulations!

I want to you start thinking of this new way of eating as the road to all things good. I don’t want you to think of it as being on a diet. Being on a diet means you are missing out on things, and that you are restricting yourself, it means you are counting calories, it depends on your will power. Eating the primal way is simply a healthier, more simple way to eat that is sustainable for life!

Let’s start by providing you with a more extensive grocery list. After all, this is your new way of life so you better be prepared. Mark Sisson does it again – here is his complete list of Primal foods.

Now when it comes to planning meals I want you to keep it simple, here are a few ideas to get you started, and remember to keep checking back as we are adding recipes each week!

Breakfast

  • Omelettes – full of fresh veggies
  • Smoothie
  • Bacon and Eggs
  • A breakfast salad? Sure, why not?
  • Fresh berries and greek yogurt
  • Leftovers from dinner
  • Nothing?

Lunch

  • Salads of any kind
  • Tuna or Salmon
  • Hardboiled Eggs
  • Good quality meats with a side of veggies
  • Wraps – Lettuce, Romaine, Radicchio or even cooked Cabbage make a fabulous alternative to the ‘Subway’ wrap.
  • Homemade Soup
  • Leftovers

Dinner

Snacks

  • Fruit and veggies
  • Nuts – almonds, macadamia nuts, cashews, pistachios…
  • Jerky – remember, the least processed the better – try making your own
  • Coconut
  • Pickles
  • High Quality Cheese
  • Dark chocolate
  • Guacamole
